Press Release Canal Street
Questions to Joanne Lutostansky (215-862-1014 x 100)
The grand opening of George E. Michael’s long awaited Canal Street model home was the occasion for two champagne receptions held recently at the 36 West Mechanic Street location. Approximately 300 guests previewed the newly completed townhome over the two day period. Décor and furnishings by Delier & Co./The Interior Shop, Buckingham, PA., presented the model in a “Bucks County Reserve” motif. The 2,700 square foot plan is one of eight uniquely different designs available among the twenty homes at Canal Street, which can be as large as 3,700 square feet. Home exteriors are distinctive, in that no two are alike. A variety of roofing materials are used, and exteriors combine siding, stucco and stone finishes. Window patterns vary, too, and may have hinged shutters, with shutter dogs. The townhomes feature four levels of finished living space, serviced by an interior elevator with wood paneled cab, and a two car attached garage. Each home has a deck, and several have walk-out basements opening to the scenic Aquetong Creek or the historic Delaware Canal, which border the site. Views to the Delaware River can be seen through the leafy perimeter of this surprisingly serene setting, in the center of New Hope’s historic district.
Main level floor plans include gracious open spaces for formal and casual living, with gas fireplace and site-finished hardwood floors, beautiful handcrafted mouldings, trim and built-ins. Kitchens are state-of-the-art, custom designed for each home owner by Charles Weiler, Lahaska, Pa.. Upstairs, the master bedroom features spacious walk-in closets (with organizer systems), and a lavish bath. A second bedroom, with en-suite bath, is generously sized and welcoming. Tucked on the third floor is a wonderful open space with full bath, suitable for a third bedroom, office, studio, or whatever imaginable use one might require. And on the “lower” level is additional finished space for media center, exercise room, wine cellar or hobby room. Homes have one or two powder rooms, and a laundry room which may be located on the second floor, or the lower level.
Canal Street residents will enjoy in-town living, with all that New Hope has to offer just a stroll away. Walk to your choice of fine restaurants, night spots, boutiques and galleries. The renowned Bucks County Playhouse is close by, as is the New Hope branch of the James A. Michener Museum and the town’s fine public library. New Hope Fitness and Yogaphoria are at Union Square. Hike the canal tow path, or enjoy morning coffee and the paper at a riverfront café. Feed the ducks and river watch. It’s all here, at Canal Street.
The Canal Street model home is open Monday – Friday, 1-5 PM; Saturday and Sunday, 12-5 PM, or anytime, by appointment. Call Joanne at 215-862-1014 ext. 100.
